Patricia Era Bath (November 4, 1942 in Harlem, New York), an ophthalmologist as the first African American woman who received a patent for an invention the medical recognized. Her husband is Dr. Beny J. Primm of New Rochelle, NY. Bain received a BA from Hunter College in 1964 after the Howard University School of Medicine in 1968. It was the first female ophthalmologist at prestigious UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute and the surgeon, the first female African-American at UCLA Medical Center. He currently lives in Los Angeles and has kept a daughter Patty Those Erak bathrooms, a psychiatrist in New York, who has been married for 3 years, her maiden name.
